During the Haikyu!! Festa 2023 event, the staff for the “Haikyu!!” anime revealed the trailer and teaser poster for the series’ upcoming first out of a two-part final film project.
The first film will depict the long-awaited “fated showdown” between Karasuno High and Nekoma High. It is slated for the February 26, 2024 opening date and is officially titled “Gekijōban Haikyu!! Gomi Suteba no Kessen” (Haikyu!! the Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump). This announcement came with a 90-second trailer that is streamed on TOHO Animation’s official YouTube channel.
More details will be coming soon. Initially, the two films were announced back in August 2022 and created a big buzz around the otaku community, especially the fans of the series, considering the decision to produce Haikyuu’s untold stories into two-part movies feels like a total rush.
